You receive CherryTree notes (.ctb format), a .zip file with Markdown versions for Obsidian or any Markdown-compatible app, and a password .txt file required to unzip the Markdown notes. Important: make sure to use the provided password when extracting the .zip, otherwise the notes may appear empty.
Absolutely! These notes are allowed and have been used by many people, including the creator, during the OSCP exam. You are free to use them, modify them, and adapt them to your own workflow.

For Obsidian: unzip the Markdown notes using the included password, open Obsidian, select "Open folder as vault", and choose the extracted folder. For CherryTree: open the app, go to File > Open, and select the .ctb file. Both formats contain the same content, so you can use one or both.
No. Both versions contain the same material and cover identical content. The only occasional difference is formatting. In some cases, Markdown files can trigger antivirus alerts, so certain commands may be defanged or replaced with links to external resources. Aside from this, no information is missing when using Obsidian instead of CherryTree!
Absolutely. The notes are meant to be tweaked, expanded, and personalized to match your own workflow and learning style. Our note-taking guide shows how we structure ours.
No worries, this is expected. These are pentesting notes that include scripts, commands, and payloads, so antivirus software may flag them. Nothing malicious is going on. If you’re unsure, feel free to check out the hundreds of satisfied user reviews. And if you’d rather avoid the .zip entirely, you can use the .ctb (CherryTree) version, which does not trigger Defender.
No. The notes are sold on their own, and the Academy plans don't include them. If you want both, the Ultimate Bundle above has the notes, lifetime Academy access and every AD chain lab released so far, for less than buying them separately.
